Terms of Service
The rules that protect candidates, employers, and the Talvus marketplace.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
These Terms of Service govern your use of Talvus. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter a binding agreement, and provide accurate information. If you use Talvus for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to represent it.
2. What Talvus provides
Talvus is an Indian talent-matching marketplace and verified talent directory. Candidates create profiles, and verified employers search appropriate profile information, describe hiring needs, shortlist people, and send Match Requests. Talvus is not an employer, recruitment agency, labour contractor, or party to any employment or engagement agreed between users. We do not guarantee that a profile is complete, that a Match Request will receive a response, or that any person will be interviewed, hired, retained, or suitable for a role.
3. Accounts and verification
You must keep your account details current, protect your credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorised access. Accounts are personal unless expressly created for an organisation. You may not impersonate another person or business, create misleading accounts, or evade a suspension. Talvus may request evidence to verify identity, experience, qualifications, authority, or an organisation. Verification indicates that specified checks were completed; it is not a guarantee, endorsement, background check, or promise of future conduct.
4. Candidate profiles and responsibilities
Candidates must provide truthful, current information and may upload or enter work history, education, skills, certifications, preferences, identity or verification materials, and supporting evidence. You must have the right to submit this material. Do not include another person's confidential information without permission. Candidates control their response to each Match Request and are not required to accept, communicate with, interview with, or work for an employer.
5. Employer responsibilities
Employers and their representatives must provide accurate organisation and opportunity information, use candidate data only for legitimate hiring, follow applicable employment, labour, anti-discrimination, privacy, and communications laws, and keep revealed candidate information secure. Employers must not scrape, copy, resell, publish, enrich, or use candidate information for advertising, unrelated sales, credit decisions, or any purpose outside the relevant hiring process. An employer may not contact a candidate outside Talvus unless the candidate has chosen Interested for that employer's Match Request.
6. Match Requests and consent
A verified employer may send a Match Request to a candidate. The candidate may respond Interested, Not interested, or Want to know more. Candidate phone and email details, together with authorised confidential profile information, are made available to that employer only when the candidate chooses Interested. Pending, expired, Not interested, and Want to know more requests do not authorise disclosure of those details. Want to know more may allow a limited in-app conversation without contact details. Users must not use messages to evade these safeguards or request, send, or infer blocked contact information.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use Talvus for fraud, scams, harassment, discrimination, unlawful recruitment, deceptive opportunities, fees charged to candidates without lawful disclosure, spam, surveillance, data harvesting, malware, security testing without permission, reverse engineering, automated scraping, access-control bypass, or infringement of another person's rights. You must not upload unlawful, harmful, false, confidential, or infringing content. Report suspicious conduct through the available reporting tools or privacy@talvus.in.
8. User content and licence
You retain ownership of information and content you submit. You grant Talvus a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, process, reproduce, format, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide the service according to your settings, Match Request decisions, these Terms, and the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring that your content is accurate and lawful.
9. Fees and third-party arrangements
Any fee displayed by Talvus will be explained before it becomes payable. Unless expressly stated, employers and candidates are responsible for their own costs, taxes, interviews, checks, contracts, compensation, and hiring decisions. Agreements between candidates and employers are solely between those parties. Third-party services used for sign-in, hosting, storage, communications, or other features may be subject to their own terms and availability.
10. Moderation, suspension, and termination
Talvus may review reports, restrict features, remove content, reject or revoke verification, suspend accounts, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, comply with law, address security risk, or preserve service integrity. We may act without advance notice in urgent or serious cases. You may stop using Talvus and request account deletion by contacting privacy@talvus.in. Certain records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Intellectual property
Talvus and its software, branding, design, documentation, and service content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the service under these Terms, no rights are transferred to you. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, license, or create derivative works from Talvus unless permitted by law or written agreement.
12. Service availability and disclaimers
Talvus is provided on an “as available” basis. We work to keep it secure and reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, permanent availability of any feature, or accuracy of all user-provided information. To the extent permitted by law, Talvus disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Talvus will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for lost opportunity, profits, data, reputation, employment, or business arising from use of the service, user conduct, or an employment decision. Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the amount paid by you to Talvus for the relevant service during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim. This section does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify Talvus against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the service, your content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights. This does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by Talvus's own unlawful conduct.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts with jurisdiction in Kerala, India will have jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer or other legal rights that apply. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact privacy@talvus.in so we can try to resolve the issue in good faith.
16. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms as Talvus or applicable law changes. We will post revised Terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice for material changes where appropriate. Continued use after the revised Terms take effect means you accept them. If you do not agree, stop using Talvus. Questions, notices, privacy requests, and grievances may be sent to privacy@talvus.in.
