Effective 18 September 2026
Privacy Policy
How Talvus handles personal information.
1. Who this policy applies to
This Privacy Policy applies to candidates, employers, employer representatives, and other people who use Talvus. Talvus is an Indian talent-matching marketplace that helps verified employers discover candidates and send Match Requests. It is not a job board and does not guarantee employment, hiring, or any particular outcome.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Talvus, we may collect:
- Account and contact information: name, email address, phone number, account role, and sign-in information.
- Candidate profile information: resume details, employment and education history, skills, certifications, languages, location, availability, salary preferences, work preferences, profile answers, and supporting evidence.
- Verification information: identity, employment, qualification, or other documents and details submitted to verify a candidate or employer. Verification records may contain sensitive personal information.
- Employer information: organisation and representative details, business identifiers, contact information, hiring requirements, and verification materials.
- Marketplace activity: searches, shortlists, Match Requests, responses, messages, reports, notification preferences, and delivery records.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, security events, and cookies or similar storage needed to operate the service.
3. Why we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; build candidate and employer profiles; verify people, organisations, and evidence; match candidates with hiring needs; operate Match Requests and private conversations; deliver service notifications; prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access; investigate reports; maintain records; comply with law; and improve the reliability and usability of Talvus. We process information to provide the service you request, with your consent where required, for legitimate safety and operational purposes, and to meet legal obligations.
4. Candidate visibility and consent-gated contact sharing
Verified and approved employers may search a limited, privacy-protected candidate directory. Before consent, employers receive only the profile information Talvus makes available for discovery. Candidate phone numbers, email addresses, full identity details, confidential fields, verification documents, and other protected information are not available through search or a pending Match Request.
An employer may send a Match Request. The candidate can respond Interested, Not interested, or Want to know more. The candidate’s phone number, email address, and authorised confidential profile information are revealed to that employer only after the candidate chooses Interested. A pending, expired, Not interested, or Want to know more response does not permit contact-detail disclosure. A limited in-app conversation may be available for Want to know more without revealing contact details. Talvus enforces this consent decision on the server and in the database.
5. When we share information
We share information only as needed to operate Talvus, follow your Match Request decision, protect users, or comply with law. This may include sharing appropriate employer information with candidates who receive a request and consented candidate information with the employer whose request the candidate accepted.
Service providers process information on our behalf, including Lovable Cloud (using Supabase infrastructure) for hosting, authentication, database, and file storage, and email delivery providers for transactional messages. Providers may process data in India or other countries where they operate, subject to contractual, technical, and legal safeguards. We may disclose information where required by law, lawful process, or to protect rights, safety, and service integrity. We do not sell candidate contact information.
6. Cookies and local storage
Talvus uses cookies and browser storage that are necessary for sign-in, session continuity, security, account preferences, and core service operation. Our infrastructure may also create technical logs used for security and reliability. If optional analytics or advertising technologies are introduced, we will provide any notice or choice required by applicable law. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or other features from working.
7. Retention and deletion
We retain personal information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Talvus, maintain consent and transaction records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, audit, or regulatory duties. Retention varies by record type and purpose. When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymise, or securely isolate it. Backup copies and records required for security or legal compliance may remain for a limited period after an account-deletion request.
8. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, update, or delete your personal information; withdraw consent for future processing; or raise a grievance about how your information is handled. You can update many profile details within your account. To make a privacy or deletion request, email privacy@talvus.in.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Deleting an account does not require us to delete information that we must retain by law or need for fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or enforcement. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already lawfully completed.
9. Security
Talvus uses access controls, role-based permissions, encryption in transit, restricted data access, verification gates, consent checks, audit records, and other safeguards designed to protect personal information. No internet service is completely secure. Keep your credentials confidential and contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
10. Children
Talvus is intended for adults who can lawfully seek work, hire, or represent an organisation. It is not intended for children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the service, law, or our practices change. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through Talvus or by email where appropriate.
For privacy questions, deletion requests, or grievances, contact the Talvus Grievance and Privacy Contact at privacy@talvus.in. Please include enough information for us to identify your account and understand the request. We will acknowledge and respond in accordance with applicable Indian law.
